LaCie has today started shipping their new LaCie 2big Thunderbolt storage solutions with the 4TB LaCie costing $650, and the larger 6TB costing a hefty $800. Meaning 1TB of data – equivalent to nearly 235,000 MP3′s, 750 iTunes movies, or more than 450,000 photos, can be transferred in less than an hour.
The LaCie 2big Thunderbolt storage solutions feature two Thunderbolt ports and will sport dual cooling methods, one of which will be achieved through its heat-dispersing aluminium shell, and the other using a fan.
The LaCie 2big Thunderbolt Series is now available to purchase at the LaCie Online Store and LaCie Storage Partners, worldwide, and an 8Tb version is currently being developed by LaCie and will be available soon they say.
